Liverpool forward Hugo Ekitike expressed his satisfaction after scoring twice in his side’s 2–0 win over Brighton at Anfield, a performance that proved decisive in securing all three points.
The striker found the net in each half to cap a strong attacking display, though he admitted there was room for even more. Ekitike said the result mattered most, especially playing in front of the home supporters, describing it as a solid day’s work for the team.
While he fell short of a hat-trick, Ekitike acknowledged he was eager for a third goal and remains confident more will come. He added that scoring twice was still a positive outcome and a reward for his effort on the pitch.
The Frenchman also praised Mohamed Salah for his role in the second goal, highlighting the quality of the assist. Ekitike explained that Salah’s delivery made his task simple, as being in the right position allowed him to finish comfortably.
