Pedro Porro Confronts Lucas Bergvall After Tottenham’s Latest Home Defeat

Tottenham’s difficult week worsened on Saturday as frustrations spilled over following their 2–1 loss to Fulham, with Pedro Porro angrily confronting teammate Lucas Bergvall after the final whistle. The defeat marked Spurs’ second London derby loss in seven days and continued a worrying defensive collapse.

Fulham struck almost immediately, taking the lead inside four minutes when Kenny Tete’s shot clipped Destiny Udogie and wrong-footed Guglielmo Vicario. Spurs barely had time to recover before Vicario misjudged a clearance, allowing Harry Wilson to pounce and fire in a spectacular second goal.

Boos filled the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at half-time, though the home side showed more composure after the break. Mohammed Kudus pulled one back with a brilliant long-range finish, giving Spurs a glimmer of hope. Despite increased pressure, they couldn’t find an equaliser.

After the match, emotions boiled over. TV cameras caught Porro shouting repeatedly at 19-year-old Bergvall, who had begun applauding the fans who stayed until the end. Porro, clearly agitated, gestured for him to stop before storming off the pitch and heading straight down the tunnel.

The right-back’s reaction seemed rooted in the growing frustration surrounding Tottenham’s recent performances, having conceded 11 goals across their last three matches in all competitions. The incident underscored the tension within the squad as results continue to slide.

When asked about the altercation, Thomas Frank declined to comment directly, saying he hadn’t seen it. He stressed that Tottenham are in a difficult spell and must stay composed as they navigate their way back to form.

Spurs now face a challenging trip to St James’ Park on Tuesday to meet Newcastle, followed by a home match against Brentford next weekend—two games that could define how quickly they steady themselves after a troubling run.
